Kinzoo Founder Sean Herman Discusses “The Social Dilemma” on CTV Morning Live

Vancouver, BC—September 28, 2020: Kinzoo is pleased to announce that its founder, Sean Herman appeared on CTV Morning Live to discuss the recent Netflix film, “The Social Dilemma,” with hosts Keri Adams and Jason Pires.

The documentary-drama hybrid from director Jeff Orlowski explores the impact of social media, and features interviews with prominent tech experts, many of whom are sounding the alarm on their own creations. Throughout the film, these tech experts explain how different design and business decisions have led to platforms that negatively impact society.

“Our attention is really the product that social media companies are after, and anytime that we’re on a free platform, advertisers are competing for our attention,” says Sean. “At the end of the day, they want to get ads in front of us that are paid for by third parties. They’re incentivized to get our attention and keep our attention, and the documentary showed how they do that, almost at any cost.”

As the founder of a kid-tech company focused on building healthy technologies for children, Sean is an outspoken advocate for ethical products that serve the best interest of users. Many of the themes explored in the documentary are also discussed in Sean Herman’s debut book, Screen Captured. The Kinzoo founder was invited to appear on CTV Morning Live to share his insights on the state of social media. This is the second time Sean has been asked for his comment on CTV, the first being when he released his best selling book Screen Captured.
